Several Premier League clubs will be closely watching the Europa League final, set to be played in Dublin at Aviva Stadium.

Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen will meet on Wednesday to decide the tournament winner, with the medallist automatically qualifying for the Champions League 2024-25 group stage.

However, following their strong performances in domestic league, both teams have a high chance of entering the main European tournament next season.

While Atalanta secured their fifth place in Serie A, with an extra game to be played, Bayer Leverkusen were crowned the champions of Germany, winning their first ever Bundesliga title, unbeaten in 34 league games.

The promising season of the finalists attracted significant interest from Premier League teams, with several clubs in the race of signing some highly-rated players from the Italian or German side.

Arne Slot, the Feyenoord manager set to replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, has reportedly seen the Atalanta midfielder as his first signing at Liverpool in the forthcoming summer.

Teun Koopmeiners had previously played under the Dutch coach at AZ Alkmaar back in the 2019-20 season.

The player is a big part of Atalanta's side, making 48 appearances this season with 11 of them in the Europa League.

Koopmeiners played against his potential next club, winning Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield.

Ademola Lookman is set to return to England after his excellent performance since his transfer to Atalanta in 2022.

The forward, who has significant Premier League experience, made nearly 100 appearances for Everton, Fulham and Leicester, and is set to be tracked by a number of top-flight clubs in England.

Lookman, who now represents Nigeria - but was previously an England Under-21 international - has performed well for Atalanta this season, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists to his team-mates. 

The 20-year-old centre-back who made his Serie A debut at 17, is a regular starter in Atalanta, having made 41 appearances this campaign.

Giorgio Scalvini will be considered a potential replacement for Raphael Varane, who is reportedly leaving as a free agent in the summer.

According to SportItalia, the Red Devils are highly linked in signing the player, for whom Atalanta are demanding over £50m.

The centre back is expected to be a starter in the upcoming Europa League final, having scored one goal against Sporting Lisbon in the group stage.

He has been on the radar of Man City and mainly Liverpool before Jurgen Klopp's leaving announcement, who reportedly used his contacts in Germany to help his side gain an edge in the race for Wirtz's signature. 

Florian Wirtz was seen as a potential Mohamed Salah replacement, with Mail Sport previously reporting that the Egyptian is one of the players who could leave the club in the summer.

Since his free transfer to Bayer Leverkusen last summer, former Barcelona youth team player Alejandro Grimaldo has impressed the whole football world.

He produced a highly-effective link with Jeremie Frimpong, scoring an outstanding for a defender 12 goals with 19 assists.

According to Football365, even though the player is under the contract until 2027, he could make the move just after a single season at Bayer Leverkusen.

Arsenal and Liverpool 'admire' the Spanish left back, and are ready to reinforce their defensive line ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

The former River Plate player joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2020, and has been a regular starter in the last three seasons.

As quoted by One Footfall, the Argentinian international is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs, including Manchester City, Newcastle and Aston Villa. 

He previously renewed his contract with the German side until 2028, but Xabi Alonso's team is expected to lose some important players in the summer.

Exequiel Palacios made 24 appearances for his club this season, scoring four goals and providing five assists.
