Champion boxer Devin Haney was among a group of men caught attacking someone at the Orange County Fair in a social media that has since gone viral.
The cause of the altercation remains unclear, as does the identify of the other parties involved.
The 27-second clip shows Haney and a group of men crowded around another civilian alongside one of the fair attractions. Haney appears to get the violence started by throwing a sucker punch before the boxer's friends step in and continue the pummeling.
The other man squares up and does his best to stay on his feet before police sirens are heard off camera, prompting Haney and his group to flee.
Haney's failure to drop the civilian with his left cross was noticed by boxing fans and his rival, suspended boxer Ryan Garcia.

'He couldn't even drop a civilian,' Garcia wrote on X.
'Also you talked about being a great role model,' he continued. 'You really punched someone while your whole team jumps one guy.'
In a follow-up post, Garcia questioned 'what the commission would do if I fought someone and it was caught on camera.'
Garcia then added: 'Thing is he punches so soft that maybe they will let it slide and call it play fighting.'
The 26-year-old Garcia has faced trouble since winning a majority decision over Haney in Brooklyn on April 20.
Garcia's victory was stripped by the New York State Athletic Commission after he tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug. Garcia was fined $1.1 million and handed a year-long ban for using Ostarine, which he denies taking.

Since then, Garcia has been expelled by the WBC for using racial slurs against African Americans and insulted Muslims in online posts.
Garcia has since apologized, vowing to go to rehab to address substance-abuse issues.
Many boxing fans were also quick to point out that the outnumbered man in the carnival fight was relatively unfazed by Haney's left cross, although others questioned if the punch actually landed at all.
'Devin Haney was not able to drop or rock a fair worker with a sneak shot,' one person wrote on X.
'He didn't even land which may or may not be just as bad,' another person wrote.
Haney spokespeople did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com's request for comment.
