Ubisoft’s Canadian studios have earned the Gold-level Parity Certification from Women in Governance. This exciting achievement reflects years of steady work to build a fair, inclusive, and welcoming workplace for everyone. 

This is the first time our Canadian studios have reached the Gold level, and it’s a milestone worth celebrating. It highlights our ongoing commitment to creating opportunities for women to grow, lead, and build their careers across our studios. 

We’re proud of the Gold recognition, as it is a testament to our work over the years. Before the pandemic, we were at the Bronze level. Since then, our teams have been reviewing and updating our practices every year to make sure women can thrive in our studios.  

At the same time, we know the job isn’t done. We still have room to strengthen leadership sponsorship and expand mentorship opportunities. And we want to encourage more women to pursue careers in technical and leadership roles, so our teams benefit from a wider range of perspectives and ideas.”  – Catherine Lemyre, VP Talent  

Each year, the certification evaluates organizations across three areas: governance and vision, collective enablers, and equity. This year, we made especially strong progress in collective enablers. These include policies, programs, and actions that help women move forward in their careers.  

Here are some examples of where this progress is taking shape: 

• Leadership engagement. Leaders at all levels sponsor programs like the DARE to Empower co-coaching program. They also act as executive sponsors for employee resource groups (ERGs) and speak often about our commitment to equity. 

• Mentorship and talent development. Programs such as Develop at Ubisoft and the Emerging Talent Mentorship support students, graduates, and early-career professionals as they enter and grow in the industry. MOD also helps people transition into or within gaming. 

• Employee resource groups. Our four active Women for Equity chapters across Canada host social gatherings, panels, networking events, and volunteer activities that foster inclusion and fairness. 

• Removing barriers. We analyze promotion, performance, pay, and leave data and train managers to identify and reduce bias to support equitable decisions. 

These efforts are reinforced by policies on discrimination and harassment prevention, our inclusive language guidance, and the work of our creative teams to embed inclusion in our games. Together, they help create an inclusive and respectful experience for our people and our players.
