As the episode begins, we’re at the cliff house, where Finn is still apologizing to Steffy and saying that he rushed home from Monaco as fast as he could because he was afraid that if he didn’t get there immediately, things would get worse. Oh, if you only knew, buddy! At FC, Daphne is clocking Carter’s distance and wondering if his feelings for her have changed. A trip to the beach house finds Will daydreaming about Electra, who at that very moment is in her office playing with jewelry and daydreaming about him. Man, a lotta flashbacks in this episode, huh? And didn’t Will and Electra look like babies in theirs? Anyway, when Dylan enters the room, Electra sets right in being snarky.

At the beach house, Will’s reverie is interrupted by Katie, who wants to know why if he misses Electra so much, he’s hooking up with her best friend. From there, Katie launches into the million reasons that she mistrusts Dylan.

“She walks in here like she owns the place,” Katie hisses, adding that she has a crazy cousin and said that she had followed the lives of the Spencers for years. (Total rewrite on the part of the writers there; so help me, if they make her another Amber, I’ll be pissed.)

Will argues that Dylan is a good person. Well, good people don’t go after their best friend’s boyfriend, Katie retorts. Didn’t she once go after Brooke’s destiny, Ridge? “I know women like her,” Katie says. (Subtle Brooke reference?) “And I don’t trust her.”

At Forrester, Electra unleashes a tidal wave of nastiness in Dylan’s direction and 100-percent plays the privilege card. “It would be so easy to get you fired, but I won’t,” Electra says, reminding her “friend” that her name is on the building. “I am Electra Forrester. If I want it, you’re gone.” Sorry, are we supposed to like Electra at all at this point?

Electra even thinks she has the right to fire Dylan for making a play for Will. That being the case, Princess Privilege suggests that the formerly unhoused woman “do the right thing” and leave FC. But Dylan couldn’t make ends meet if she did — a concept Electra clearly doesn’t understand and has never had to think about.

Dylan doesn’t want every interaction with Electra to be like this, but the latter makes it clear that that’s what she can expect. Dylan would be nowhere if it wasn’t for Electra, she says, adding that her bestie stabbed her in the back. That won’t happen again.

In the CEO’s office, Daphne can’t make heads or tails of Carter’s chilliness. He reiterates that she left him, and that hurt him. “You said I wasn’t family,” he adds. Oh, that.

Daphne wants to put it all behind them. She wants to stay married, start a family and have a future with Carter — always. She’s even ready at last to discuss options to have a baby.

At the cliff house, Steffy is so wracked with guilt over her one-night stand with Carter that the poor thing looks like she’s gonna throw up. Or maybe she’s just still upset about Monaco. When it’s her turn to talk, she says that maybe she overreacted, but for Pete’s sake, Sheila is always there — and she ruined their moment at their “special place.”

“I need you to stand up for me,” Steffy says. “I can’t live like this. I won’t.” In response, Finn begs her not to let one terrible mistake (our new buzz phrase) tear us apart.

“I am done choosing peace with Sheila over peace with my family,” Finn promises. He’ll get a restraining order if need be. Now he finally seems to get why Steffy is scared of and wants nothing to do with his mother.

In the episode’s final moments, Finn exclaims that he knows how lucky he is to have the perfect wife. “Oh, I’m not perfect,” she admits. He wants to step up and be the husband that she deserves. But Steffy is losing her [bleep].

“You’re pure, you’re honest, you’re loyal,” Finn says. Not quite, Steffy replies. “There’s something I need to tell you.”
