The fifth series of Love Island kicked off with a brand new batch of bombshell contestants on Monday.
But viewers were left cringing in the first hour when Sherif Lanre, 20, not-so-casually admitted he already follows Anna Vakili, 28, on Instagram.
The chef coupled up with pharmacist Anna after his first match, Amber Gill, swapped him for Callum McLeod in the initial coupling.

He then decided to couple up with the brunette beauty when asked to choose between her and Yewande Biala, who were the two remaining single girls.
But when the new couple were getting to know each other in the newly renovated villa, Sherif admitted to Anna that he already knows her from Instagram.
Clearly taken aback by his sudden confession, Anna simply replied 'Do you?'

To which the rugby player responded: 'Genuinely. I wasn’t going to say out there!'
Anna reflected on his confession in the Beach Hut later on, admitting she 'didn't expect it coming in here.'
She said: 'He just brought it out so casually. Like "Yeah I follow you on Instagram". I was flattered but I didn’t expect it coming in here, that someone would follow me on Instagram. When I do go out, I do tend to get that a lot.'

Fans soon took to Twitter to give their own take on the 'cringe' confession.
One user said: 'Sheriff is actually too cringe. Why would you bring up Insta... she is 8 years older than this don'.
Another added: 'Cringe "I know you from your Instagram, don’t forget that" - Sherif'.
And a third commented: 'Sherif, if you’re gonna be a stalker at least be chill about it "I know you from Instagram, don’t forget that" urgh'.
'Sherif constantly talking about knowing Anna from IG is like Marcel and the Blazing Squad all over again,' said another.

And true to form, the bikini-clad girls were sent into the villa first - having been transported in convertible jeeps, sure to make their excitable entrances and pop a prosecco cork or two in the process.
But before long, drama started to bubble - as troublesome Scot Anton Danyluk and his self-professed wandering eye began to creep from air stewardess Amy Hart to surfer chick Lucie Donlan, with him trying to swipe her away from Londoner Joe Garratt on the first night.
Episode one saw the Islanders dance the usual dance, with each girl choosing who they'd like to couple up with out of the boys and Caroline Flack presiding over matters.
Anton entered first and was chosen by Amy, who he decided to couple up with in return. Next in was Sherif Lanre who wasn't chosen by anyone and so was left to select someone himself - going for Amber Gill.

She later traded him in, however, for aviation technician Callum Macleod.
There was another swap when Lucie chose to couple up with fireman Michael Griffiths only to swap him with 'sandwich man' Joe.
Scientist Yewande Biala ended up, by default, with Michael, while Sherif ended up with Anna Vakili.
But by nightfall, Anton had decided he actually liked Lucie, leaving Amy on her own while he went to have a word with Joe, telling him he has an eye on the blonde.
