Note "Taxonomy: Burton (1934) reviewed the species of the genus Cinachyrella (as Cinachyra) from the Indo-Pacific. He distinguished three species groups, 'australiensis-group' (possessing spined microxeas), 'schulzei-group' (smooth microxeas) and 'porosa-group'(microxeas absent). He finally concluded - typically Burton-esque and probably incorrectly- that these species are all junior synonyms of a single species C. australiensis (Carter, 1886).
