JSC “Mechanical Engineering Division-technology” (a part of machine building division of Rosatom – JSC “Atomenergomash”) was audited by Turkish experts. The delegation of Turkish Atomic Energy Authority (TAEK) conducted the audits of “Atomash” and “Petrozavodskmash” production sites for obtaining a certificate of approval of a nuclear steam generating plant manufacturer.

 The audits were conducted in all the subdivisions and departments of the Mechanical Engineering Division-technology Branches for the purpose of checking their readiness to manufacture equipment for “Akkuyu” NPP. The representatives of national regulatory authority of Turkey reviewed process and design documentation, quality management system of the Branches. Special attention was given by auditors to production processes, quality inspection at all stages of production and safety culture while NPP equipment manufacturing.

Based on the results of two four-day audits the representatives of Turkish Atomic Energy Authority confirmed the compliance of the JSC “Mechanical Engineering Division-technology” production sites with the established requirements. ТАЕК inspectors’ recommendations obtained by the Branches will be taken into account in the program of corrective actions. In whole the auditors highlighted that personnel have high qualification and production buildings are provided with modern equipment, all the personnel of the companies are entirely involved in the processes of continuous improvement in terms of development of quality management system.

 The completed audit of the production sites became a determining step to the obtaining of a certificate of approval of JSC “Mechanical Engineering Division-technology” as a supplier of equipment for “Akkuyu” NPP under construction in Turkey.
