The Volgodonsk and Petrozavodsk Branches of JSC “Mechanical Engineering Division-technology” (a part of Rosatom machine-building division – JSC “Atomenergomash”) have been inspected by Turkish Atomic Energy Authority (ТАЕК). Experts confirmed the readiness of the production sites for the start of production of nuclear island equipment for Akkuyuy NPP.

The representatives of national regulatory authority along with the specialists from Akkuyu Nuclear reviewed working design documentation, process procedures and quality plans for reactor vessel and steam generator parts as an assembly. Based on the inspection results ТАЕК approved the start of the equipment production for Akkuyu NPP. The Atommash and Petrozavodskmash Branches proceeded to the incoming inspection and machining of long lead item parts for the reactor plant for Turkish NPP.

JSC “Atomenergomash” is a single-source manufacturer of the equipment for a reactor plant and a turbine island for Akkuyu NPP. The enterprises of the machine building division will manufacture reactors, steam generators, pump sets, protection systems, pipelines, turbines, valves, pumping, heat exchanging and other equipment.

Akkuyu NPP Project consists of 4 Units with VVER-1200 reactor plants, generation 3+, which meet the highest safety standards. The power of each unit will make up 1200 МW.
