this morning viewers got emotional when John Barrowman made a sweet appeal to pay for two Jack Russells' re-homing fees on Thursday.

The actor, 52, offered to pay the full adoption fee of a £162 per dog but he explained he wouldn't be able to adopt the puppies himself because he already has three dogs.

Social media was awash with compliments about John's heart-warming plea to pay for people to re-home Daffy, 10, and Ozzy, two.

'Crying at @thismorning because two dogs need adopted and John barrowman offered to cover the costs. God help me when the baby arrives if this is what I’m like just now #pregnancyhormonesarereal.' One fan wrote, leading the troops.

Emotional John declared he had already fallen in love while he cuddled Daffy in his arms but he was clearly saddened he was unable to adopt both the dogs.

The I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here star vowed to cover the costs for anyone who would be willing to give the pair a loving home.  

He said: 'I think I’ve fallen in love with him. I’ve been told I’m not allowed to take them home. We have three at home and five would be too much for us. I'll tell you what, if you think £162 is too much for the dogs, I will cover whoever wants them first.'

The puppies have been residing in the animal sanctuary for three months now.  

As an avid animal lover and owner of three dogs, John gushed over his own Jack Russell and reassured viewers at home the age of the dog doesn't matter.

He shared: 'Don’t worry about the age of the dog. My Jack Russell is 11 years old. He’s as robust as he can be and they are very loving dogs. 

'Some people might think they are manic all the time, some like cuddles and some like to have a good time. It’s no more difficult having two dogs than one dogs.'

John's pledge to find the dogs a new home didn't stop there as he took to social media to share a snap of himself with one pooch in each arm.

He shared with his fans: 'Meet Daffy and Ozzy they are looking to be adopted together! Join us on @thismorning @itv @rochellehumes to get all the details of how you can adopt these 2 amazing characters and give them their #foreverhome Ps I don’t come with them lol jb.' (sic) 

Viewers lauded the presenter as a 'superstar' and a 'legend' when he made his 'lovely' offer in a bid to find the two dogs a new home as soon as possible.

Another wrote: 'As if @JohnBarrowman could get lovelier , Offering to pay for the adoption fees for the rehoming of the little dogs on #ThisMorning ♥️♥️what a guy ♥️♥️.'
