Wes Nelson has admitted he was 'not thinking about his ex' Arabella Chi when he made a guest appearance on Love Island All Stars in February. 

The former TV personality, 26, and Arabella had a nine-month romance which saw them move in together, but it ended in 2020 during lockdown.

Wes made his music debut in the South African villa in February alongside pal Craig David as they performed their new single Abracadabra.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, at the Lynx fragrance event in London, Wes revealed he was 'focused on sounding great' and was not 'bothered' about seeing his former flame. 

Discussing being reunited with Arabella, he said: 'I felt good before. It was not at all [awkward]. I was more focused on the performance and getting that right. 

'We're performing in front of millions of viewers, people that might not have necessarily seen me since Love Island and some people who may have not seen me performing live. So I wanted to make sure that it was bang on. 

'I was not thinking about an ex for one minute.'

He continued: 'We just got in there and got the job done. I mean, I'm walking on with Craig David, like, it's probably the biggest confidence booster you can think of. 

'I was more bothered about making sure I sounded great next to Craig than I was about the islanders, if that makes sense.'

Wes now chooses to keep his private life out of the public eye but teased his 'current love life is going swimmingly'.

During the ITV2 All Stars episode, the blonde beauty visibly turned away when Wes joined Craig to perform for the Islanders, though she later joked that at least he hadn't entered the villa as a bombshell.  

Wes and Arabella sparked romance rumours back in the summer of 2018.

Their nine-month budding relationship saw the couple move in together and explore the world in luxury after having glitzy getaways in the Maldives and Ibiza.

But their time together soon came to an end during 2020's COVID pandemic after they were left in isolation together.

Wes starred on Love Island back in 2018 and told MailOnline it was 'tough' to break away from the stigma of his reality TV past.

He explained how he has really had to 'prove' himself in the industry and work extra hard due to the outcome being in the hands of listeners.   

Wes said: 'It's not easy, but at the same time, it's nothing that I can control. I think it is something that, if you are putting good music out and you get the response and get the numbers, that's what people sort of accept as your career path.

'I think you can't really shout it from the rooftops, "oh I'm an artist now". You have to prove it. 

'I feel we have done that now, and obviously with my tour, and people are really turning up and really streaming music day after day. So it's been tough in a sense.'

On Wednesday, Wes was celebrating the new Lynx black vanilla fragrance and gushed: 'I'm very selective with what I choose and this has changed my whole perception of fragrances because I tried it and thought this is expensive, it's got to be expensive, but it's links and it's super affordable. 

'So the thing is I spend an absolute fortune on fragrances, far too much than I'd care to admit, and this now allows me to to smell good every single day and I'm not break the bank'.
