English actor Paul Bettany can be seen reprising his role as former Avenger Vision in the first trailer for Marvel series VisionQuest.

The 55-year-old previously played the character in Avengers: Age Of Ultron (2015), Captain America: Civil War (2016) and Avengers: Infinity War (2018) – and also played the character’s AI form, Jarvis, in Age Of Ultron, Iron Man (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), and Iron Man 3 (2013).

The new series is the third in a trilogy which began with 2021’s WandaVision, which also saw Bettany as Vision, and 2024’s Agatha All Along.

Speaking at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event – where the trailer was released, Bettany said: “It’s been an enormous joy playing the Vision as he’s evolved over the years, he’s been an Avenger, a father, a partner to Wanda, and he’s helped turned the tide in some fairly enormous battles.

“He made the ultimate sacrifice and rather inconveniently died several times, which I can tell you is an act that can make long-term financial planning difficult.

“But I am told that in the Marvel Universe, no-one is ever really dead — unless Kevin (Fiege, Marvel Studios president) says they’re dead, and even then, I wouldn’t really trust him anyway.”

The series trailer also sees James Spader reprise his role as Ultron, and begins showing Vision working in a pub, before also revealing he has a son.

In the clip, Bettany can be heard as Vision saying: “Who am I? I was an Avenger, but I’m not a hero anymore, I have his face but not his virtue, all I have is his name.”

The new series will launch on Disney+ on October 14.
