The Stop N Save is a convenience store, a gas station and a package store at 2121 E. 23rd St. The Chattanooga Beer Board has approved the owner of the business, Prahladbhai Chaudhari, for a carry-out beer permit to sell specialty beers. Wine is also sold.

An old favorite, Sluggo’s at 505 Cherokee Blvd., was also approved. It is a vegetarian/vegan restaurant upstairs, with a full menu where customers of all ages are allowed. And Sluggos Underground Lounge is downstairs with the entrance in back. Outdoor seating is for ages 21 and up.

The Chattanooga Beer Board approved the business for a consumer beer license at its meeting on July 16.

The downstairs area is a music venue with a full bar The restaurant is self-described as easygoing and with an eclectic menu of vegetarian and vegan dishes and homemade desserts.” It is also described as a community hub and a safe place for all guests, including transgender individuals.”

The restaurant is open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday from 6 until 9 p.m. and brunch is served on Sunday.

The business 1517 Mitchell Catering, doing business as The Landing Social, was filed with the Tennessee department of state in June. It is a Foreign Limited Liability Company out of Louisville, Ky. The local location is 11517 Mitchell Ave., and it is owned by Susan Schulte. The business’s owner was approved for a consumer beer license by the Chattanooga Beer Board.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Chattanooga Beer Board is Aug. 6, which is election day. Because of that, the board meeting has been moved to Friday, Aug. 7.
