A new city beer license was needed at Rain Thai Bistro, 6933 Lee Highway, because the renewal was past due. But the new application for a consumer beer permit is being held up by legal, waiting for a resolution of a citation the restaurant received for not having its beer permit on display.

The beer board was told the restaurant had sold beer in compliance with the beer ordinance for a very long time in the past, but cannot legally serve it while the violation is pending.

So the beer permit application has been tabled until the beer board meeting on Sept.

3 after the violation has been settled.
