JERUSALEM (VINnews) — The IDF on Sunday presented bereaved families with the findings of its investigation into the attack on the Re’im East roadside shelter, where 29 people were murdered, 12 survived, and one person was abducted to the Gaza Strip during the October 7 Hamas-led assault.

Following the presentation, relatives of the victims shared some of the information they had received, along with their emotional reactions.

Menashe Mansouri, whose daughters Norel and Roya were among those killed in the shelter, wrote: “Yesterday, the IDF presented us with the investigation into the shelter near Re’im, where 29 young people were murdered, 12 survived, and one was kidnapped—including my beloved daughters, Norel and Roya.”

Mansouri described what the family learned during the briefing.

“What they went through—the suffering—is impossible to describe, impossible to bear,” he wrote. “One hundred terrorists massacred them. Grenades exploded inside the shelter, and they fired into it. It was hell here.”

He also criticized the pace at which those responsible have been eliminated.

“The IDF identified most of the terrorists. How many have been killed so far? Three. Most of them are still alive in Gaza. Tell me again about ‘total victory.'”

Chen Zander, whose sister Noa was murdered in the shelter, also commented after attending the presentation.

“Two years and ten months after October 7, the IDF presented us yesterday with its investigation into the Re’im East shelter,” she wrote.

Zander said she would not disclose the details of the investigation out of respect for the families but highlighted one statistic that particularly troubled her.

“I won’t share the details so I don’t ruin your night,” she wrote. “But you should know that out of the 100 terrorists who seized the junction and massacred my sister along with so many others, only three have been killed to date. Three terrorists, only three.”
