“As a community though, it’s really useful for us to come together and think about the more vulnerable members of society when we’re coping with the heat wave,” recommends Dr. Jane Baldwin, an Assistant Professor of Earth Science at UC Irvine. She continues, “Older people, sick people, pregnant people, homeless, people who work outdoors, these are all individuals who are more likely to suffer in the heat.”
