Shooting in Bridgeport leaves man dead Sunday morning

Bridgeport police say they are investigating the death of a man at the P.T. Public Housing Complex Sunday morning.
They say officials were on scene around 1 a.m. for reports of a person shot in the complex.
According to police, a 46-year-old man was found outside Building 21.
They say he was shot multiple times and found unresponsive when he was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead.
This is the sixth homicide this year in Bridgeport according to police.
“Homicide detectives worked throughout the early morning hours Sunday gathering information. Major Crime detectives processed the scene for several hours,” police said.
After investigation, police say the shooting occurred in the hours after a reunion for residents on Saturday across the street from where the victim was found.
“We know this is traumatic for the persons who were there, as well as the residents of P.T. Barnum as a whole,” said Detective Jeffrey Holtz of the Homicide Unit.
