For those with an ASUS ROG Ryujin III all-in-one CPU liquid cooling setup catering to gamers, there are now patches pending to enable this AIO liquid cooling setup to work under Linux for monitoring.

Since 2024 for Linux there have been open-source customers of ASUS that developed the asus_rog_ryujin driver for the ROG Ryujin II (and then upstreamed in Linux 6.9). Now patches posted this week to the Linux kernel mailing list extend that hardware monitoring (HWMON) driver for supporting the ASUS ROG Ryujin III.

Arie Miller posted the patches to enable hardware monitoring support for the newer ASUS ROG Ryujin III coolers as they rely on different offsets and other changes compared to the earlier ASUS coolers. Extending the asus_rog_ryujin Linux driver to the newer hardware was assisted by Codex GPT 5.6-sol AI.

The ASUS ROG RYUJIN III EXTREME, ASUS ROG RYUJIN III EVA EDITION, and ASUS ROG RYUJIN III WHITE EDITION have all now been tested to work with hardware monitoring under Linux. With the RYUJIN II there are fan speed/duty controls with the Linux driver while for the RYUJIN III at present is simply monitoring.
