Does the world need a “Spring Breakers” sequel, much less one not directed by Harmony Korine? Not really, but Variety reports that’s what’s happening, with former Disney star Bella Thorne stating she’s set to star, write, and direct a new film set in the world of Korine’s 2012 film. Actually, Variety announced “Spring Breakers 2” and its cast last May, with Thorne now providing the update that she’ll also helm the sequel in a new interview.
