Atlas Reverb promises to give vocals, drums, guitars, synths and even full mixes a sense of depth and dimension that feels connected to the record rather than simply sounding like it's been applied over the top of it.

Waves have just introduced a new flagship algorithmic reverb plug-in that offers the company’s take on the iconic digital reverb units. The result of thousands of hours of listening tests and fine-tuning, Atlas Reverb promises to give vocals, drums, guitars, synths and even full mixes a sense of depth and dimension that feels connected to the record rather than simply sounding like it's been applied over the top of it.

Drawing its inspiration from the algorithmic reverbs that helped to shape countless 1980s hits, Atlas Reverb delivers everything from realistic-sounding, rooms, chambers, plates and springs to Signature Halls and Dreamscapes categories that offer more experimental imagined’ spaces. Its browser allows users to quickly audition different reverbs, and includes a stripped-back set of controls for getting the chosen patch into shape for the task at hand, while more complex parameters are taken care of automatically behind the scenes.

Waves say that they’ve designed the plug-in as a practical go-to reverb rather than a special effect, and thanks to its low CPU consumption and latency figures, it can be put to work in live scenarios as well as in the studio.

Key Features
  • All-new fully algorithmic reverb engine.
  • 100+ original reverb programs tuned by ear from the ground up.
  • Efficient program-browsing workflow to hear what suits the mix.
  • Mix-ready depth and dimension.
  • Wide range of flavours inspired by legendary DSP reverb units.
  • Dynamic spaces that react to the source.
  • Low latency and low CPU usage.
  • Streamlined musical controls.

“Convolution reverb can capture a moment in a room. But with Atlas, we weren’t just chasing the sound of a room. We wanted its behaviour — reflections that move and modulate as the music moves. We wanted every program in Atlas to feel like a different musical decision, not just a variation on the same reverb. The process was mainly listening — thousands of hours across songs, rooms and classic hardware devices — then refining until the reverb felt like it was part of the music. The goal is not for the listener to say, ‘The reverb is beautiful.’ The goal is for them to say, ‘I love that song.’” — Shai Mantzur, Atlas Product Manager, Waves

Compatibility

Atlas Reverb is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or later, and Macs running macOS 14 and above. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

Pricing & Availability

Atlas Reverb is available now, and is currently (30 July 2026) being offered at an introductory price of $99.99, reduced from its full cost of $149.
