Samsung Care+ Theft and Loss is normally reserved for new devices, but the company announced it’s opening open enrollment for the insurance plan until the end of this month.

Until June 30, Samsung is opening up signups for Samsung Care+ Theft and Loss. The plan is generally reserved for customers when they first purchase the device. With signups open for a short time, plans will be discounted up to 16%, starting at $9/month.

Samsung’s protection plan is surprisingly extensive. The Samsung Care+ plan details advertise unlimited repairs for phones covered in both tiers. The “Theft and Loss” plan is a little more premium, offering up to 3 replacements in a year if the phone is lost or stolen. The higher tier also advertises same-day replacement for devices, rather than the next-day service of the base plan.

If your phone is older than 60 days, the only Samsung Care+ plan available appears to be the more expensive Theft and Loss plan. Open enrollment means customers can add coverage up to 365 days after buying the device, but it’s a little more expensive than doing it at purchase. That’s where the 16% discount comes in.

Prices will vary from device to device, but Samsung makes it relatively easy to check the price offered. You can head to Samsung’s website to check your coverage. If the phone is more premium, expect a higher monthly price.
