Actor Andre Yllana shared an embarrassing moment he had with his mother, seasoned actress Aiko Melendez, in Viva Movie Box’s vertical drama A Mother’s Sacrifice.

Andre, being the son of Aiko with actor Jomari Yllana, has been exposed to showbiz at a young age. Eventually, Andre followed in the footsteps of his parents.

Based on the article in PEP, Andre shared that it has been his dream to share the same frame with her mother, and this was fulfilled through his recent acting project.

Andre Yllana admitted that this project was not easy. “It’s our first time to be able to work together. It still feels like a dream kasi dati talaga, pangarap ko lang maka-work at makasama si Mommy sa pag-arte. Tinupad po agad ng Viva ang pangarap ko kaya maraming salamat po,” the young actor enthused.

He also admitted that he was really nervous during taping because there was pressure for him, since it was his first project with his mom, who is an award-winning actress.

“Nakatulong po yung nag-throw lines kami ni Mommy dahil sa tuwing naririnig ko na nagbabatuhan kami ng linya, mas lalong na-realize ko na ito na yung pangarap ko. Right in front of me,” he shared.

Andre also shared that his favorite scene was when they were inside a room because the vibe was really amazing, and he really felt the scene.

Then, he shared an embarrassing moment he had while doing a scene with Aiko. There was a certain line that he kept messing up, and due to his frustration, he cursed. Andre was reprimanded by her mother for cursing.

“Nakakahiya pong ikuwento. May isang line kasi na buckle ako nang buckle, sa script reading pa lang. Hindi ko talaga makuha-kuha dahil nabubulol ako kaya nakapagmura ako. Nakalimutan ko po na si Mommy ang katabi ko. Napagalitan po niya ako,” the actor shared.

When asked what advice Aiko gave to him, Andre said that he was told to read his lines and understand his character in order to give life to it.

He was also asked about the advantages and disadvantages of being with his mom in a project. When it comes to advantages, he can bond and share experiences and memories with his mom.

For the disadvantage, Andre Yllana said, “Ang disadvantage naman, siguro yung focus at pagkailang. Kasi, personally, ibang level po ng hiya at ilang ang naramdaman ko dahil alam ko po na nanay ko ang kasama ko sa pag-arte.”
