Coco Martin and his series received negative reactions

The producers of the hit primetime series ‘Sigabo,’ starring Kapamilya Primetime King Coco Martin, are open to collaborating with the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) to enhance the show and continue serving as an inspiration to viewers.

Just recently, the MTRCB conducted a compliance seminar for the producers of the Kapamilya teleserye following the complaints due to the alleged excessive portrayal of violence in several scenes.

Producers from CCM Film Productions, owned by Coco, attended the seminar. Based on the article in Bandera, the production company expressed willingness to work hand-in-hand with the board.

Malu Sevilla, who is one of the directors of ‘Sigabo,’ expressed their appreciation for the discussions regarding feedback on the program. She noted that they are eager to further improve the quality of storytelling for Gabo’s (Coco’s character) journey and bring even more joy to viewers every night.

“We are all here to help this industry. So kung itinataas mo ang level ng entertainment at medyo nag fa-falter kami, we appreciate the help,” the director said.

It will be recalled that last Monday, the MTRCB, together with the series’ producers, held a seminar to offer suggestions on how to improve the show and make it more suitable for viewers.

I just want to make it clear that the reason why we are having this is because we want to help you, we want to help drive the production. We want you to understand where we are coming from and we want a better understanding also of the production.” MTRCB Chairperson Lala Sotto clarified.

The high viewership and enthusiastic reception from the audience serve as proof of the inspiration that the series brings.

According to a special TV premiere report by the research agency Fifty5Blue, the program garnered 16.1 million views following its initial broadcast on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, ALLTV, and TV5 on June 22.
