Jennifer Aniston and her ex-husband Brad Pitt shocked their fans in January 2020 when they had an unusually warm reunion at that year's Screen Actors Guild Awards.

But the former coupler had another under-the-radar a year before their awards-ceremony meet-up, according to Aniston's Morning Show costar Reese Witherspoon, 49.

During her appearance on Monday's episode of Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast, Witherspoon confirmed that Aniston, now 56, had invited Pitt to her 50th birthday party in February 2019.

The Legally Blonde actress explained: 'At her 50th birthday — one of the biggest testaments I can say to what a wonderful person she is — people from her teenage years, people from her 20s, people who work in her home, every ex-husband, ex-boyfriend was there.'

'She just is a high spiritual-integrity person,' Witherspoon added.

In addition to her 61-year-old ex-husband attending the party, Pitt's ex-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow was also in attendance.

Aniston and Pitt were married from 2000 to 2005. 

Earlier in the conversation, Witherspoon explained the mindset that allows Aniston to have friendly relations with her exes.

'She’s not who people think she is — like, holding onto old things. She’s not holding onto old things,' the Sweet Home Alabama star explained.

Shepard clarified: 'She’s not "pining for Brad Pitt."'

Witherspoon's comments would suggest that Aniston's ex-husband Justin Theroux, 54, was also at her birthday party, but his presence has never been confirmed.

However, Aniston and Theroux have shown a similarly warm connection since their 2018 split.

In 2021, the Friends star wished her ex a happy birthday with a steamy shirtless photo posted to Instagram.

More recently, Theroux showed his support for his ex by liking her post making her relationship with her new boyfriend Jim Curtis Instagram official.

The exes wed in 2015, but their ceremony was reportedly not legally binding. 

Some of Aniston's other famous exes include John Mayer, Paull Rudd and Vince Vaughn, among others. 

Although Witherspoon went on to agree with Shepard that her Morning Show costar is 'not a burner of bridges,' she emphasized how she and Aniston are 'very different people' when it comes to their relations with former partners. 

'She’s really warm and welcoming. She’s, like, a big host. Like, "come over!" She’s very warm and friendly,' Witherspoon explained. 'I think I’m more, like, nerdy.'

Witherspoon was married to her Cruel Intentions costar Ryan Phillippe from 1999 to 2007. 

She later married the talent agent Jim Toth in 2011, before they went their separate ways in 2023.
