Christina Haack and her ex-husband Ant Anstead put the past firmly behind them this week as they reunited for a heart-melting milestone in their son Hudson's life.

The former couple, who finalized a contentious divorce in 2020 and later battled over custody, shared a rare joint Instagram post celebrating Hudson's Christmas school performance.

In the photos, Haack and Anstead posed side-by-side inside a festively decorated classroom as they beamed alongside their five-year-old son, who proudly showed off his gingerbread-themed creation following the holiday play. 

Another snap captured Hudson concentrating as he decorated his treat, while a final image showed the trio smiling together.

The pair captioned the post with unabashed pride, writing that Hudson and his classmates 'crushed' their performance, adding that their son 'sang and narrated like a pro.'

The post struck a chord with followers, many of whom flooded the comments with messages praising the former couple's progress after years of public tension.

'Well done Mom & Dad! The way it's supposed to be!!' one fan wrote, while another added, 'Y'all have made leaps and bounds.'

'So happy to see you guys together for your son,' read one comment, as another gushed, 'Happy you've found your peace or common ground - Hudson feels it in his smile.'

Several fans emphasized the impact on their child, with one writing, 'This warms my heart. Best for the child - great job guys,' while another declared, 'Smashing the positive co-parenting like a champ. Kids come first and foremost.'

The show of unity marks a striking shift for Haack and Anstead, who spent years barely communicating after their split.

In January, Haack revealed that the pair were finally on good terms following what she described as 'years' of distance after her marriage to her third husband, Josh Hall.

She admitted that while married to Hall, she felt anxious about having to interact with Anstead at their son's sporting events, unsure how tensions would play out. 

But everything changed after her split from Hall in 2024.

Haack recalled that while dropping Hudson off at Anstead's home, he surprised her with a heartfelt embrace - their first hug in years.

'He said, "I'm here for you and I'm so sorry you're going through this,"' she shared, explaining that the moment marked a turning point in their relationship. 'Now we're back on track.'

The reconciliation later played out publicly when Anstead appeared alongside Haack on a special episode of her HGTV competition series The Flip Off, a move that stunned even her first ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his wife Heather Rae.

The couple admitted they were shocked to see Haack and Anstead interacting so comfortably, revealing they had no idea the former spouses were even speaking after their lengthy custody dispute, which was settled in December 2022.

Haack and Anstead were married from December 2018 until September 2020, separating just one year after welcoming Hudson. 

She later married Hall in 2022 before their split two years later.

Anstead has been in a relationship with actress Renée Zellweger since 2021, while Haack is currently dating Network Connex CEO Christopher Larocca.
