BUENOS AIRES, August 22. /TASS/. At least 329 people have been killed and 247 remain missing after a powerful earthquake struck Colombia, the country's disaster risk management service reported.

"To date, 329 people have died, 4,600 have been injured, 247 are missing, and 364 have been rescued," the service said in a post on the X social network. Additionally, emergency teams rescued more than 1,200 animals.

The latest government assessment reveals that the earthquake completely destroyed over 31,000 homes and damaged another 171,273 buildings.

The magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck near the town of San Jose del Palmar in the western department of Choco on August 10. Authorities estimate that the disaster has affected 15 of the country's departments. The death toll previously stood at 319.
