MOSCOW, July 27. /TASS/. The Sirius federal territory, which has been put on the list of border areas where foreign nationals are prohibited from owning land, has become the 422nd such territory, according to TASS calculations.

Russian President Vladimir Putin previously expanded the list of territories where foreign citizens and businesses, and stateless persons are prohibited from owning land. The requirement to maintain such a list is established by the Land Code in the interest of protecting Russia’s state border.

Since the decree came into effect in 2011, an additional 52 territories have been included (including areas in Crimea and Sevastopol, which reunited with Russia in 2014). Meanwhile, ten territories were formally removed due to changes to or the renaming of the administrative boundaries of urban districts and municipal districts.
