Celebrity TV chef Gordon Ramsay paid a visit to the Scotland camp in Massachusetts on the eve of their first World Cup appearance since 1998.

The Hell's Kitchen star, 59, is an avid Scotland fan and donned a home strip as he gave a few words of encouragement to Steve Clarke's side. He also posed for photos with Scotland captain Andy Robertson.

Scotland will face Haiti in their opener at the Gillette Stadium in the early hours of Saturday morning, with the game to kick off at 2am BST.

The game has been billed as a must-win, with matches against Africa Cup of Nations winners Morocco and international super giants Brazil to come.

Ramsay was born in Johnstone in Scotland, moving to England when he was young. He has, as a Scot, represented the Rest of the World team in charity match Soccer Aid in the past.

Before he became a chef, he chased a footballing career and had a trial with Scottish giants Rangers, before suffering a knee injury that would put an end to his football aspirations.

Since, he has become arguably the most famous chef on the planet, conquering England and America with various television shows, restaurant chains and 20million Instagram followers.

He told talkSPORT: 'I've always been a Scot through and through, right? That's obvious.'

Scotland will face Morocco in Boston on June 19 before a tough task against Brazil in Miami four days later.

There are 12 groups in the group stage, and the top two teams in each group will reach the round of 32 stage, alongside the eight best third-place teams.
