Gordon Ramsay's £1.6million Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta was towed away after suffering a tyre puncture while he was cruising around Cornwall earlier this week.

The celebrity chef, who has amassed an extraordinary collection of supercars over the years, was spotted driving his rare Ferrari around Porth, close to where he owns multiple homes in Cornwall, on Tuesday night.

But his evening drive along the Cornish coast came to an abrupt end when his pearl white Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta suffered a tyre puncture.

The father-of-six was forced to pull over before his prized vehicle was loaded onto a recovery truck.

They suspect that he likely blew his tyre on one of Cornwall's notorious potholes.

'I walked past him getting out of the car parked up at Porth on Tuesday night with a puncture,' an eyewitness said.

'It was collected in a big trailer about 8.30pm.'

Ramsay was one of the first people to buy a Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta when they went on sale for £1.6million in 2016.

The supercar is one of the rarest vehicles ever manufactured by Ferrari - with only 210 built worldwide.

In 2017, Ferrari announced that one of the models had sold for a staggering 8.3million euros (£7million), which was a record for the most expensive 21st century car to be sold.

It is powered by a 6.3-litre V12 engine which, combined with an electric motor, boasts a staggering 950bhp.

This gives a 0-62mph time of less than three seconds and a top speed of more than 215mph.

Last month, the Kitchen Nightmares host was spotted driving the same Ferrari around Monaco during a trip to the principality - famed as a playground for celebrities and the super rich.

Ramsay is known to own an extensive collection of 94 luxury cars which includes an Aston Martin DB4, a McLaren Senna and a Ferrari 308.

He is also known to own several properties in Cornwall, including two in the upscale village of Rock.

Residents were surprised to see the Ferrari being driven on Cornwall's narrow roads.

One said: 'Just perfect for those narrow country lanes to get stuck in... or the odd scrape from a bus, or white van man or Chelsea tractor.'

Another added: 'Cornish roads. What more needs to be said.'

A third joked: 'Cornish pothole - 1, £5m Ferrari - 0.'
