Promising review: "Sperry is my only go-to for comfortable tennis-type shoes. They are comfortable, easy to clean, with great support. I can walk long distances while feeling a great sense of balance. I choose to wear them nearly every day year-round. I don’t bend over to tie the laces and they always look great. I have purchased them for years. I usually have more than one at a time. My favorite colors are navy and gray. I highly recommend the brand. My foot is narrow and I always get a comfortable fit with these shoes." —Melissa B

Price: $40.28+ (available in sizes 5–12, including wide sizes, and 13 colors)

2. A pair of On Cloud 5 sneakers that have become wildly popular on account of their comfort — although, the quirky design doesn't hurt either! In short, they're worth the hype.

Promising reviews: "I will never buy anything but this shoe from here on out! I am not a runner — just fyi — However, I work in a very big, very busy restaurant, and put lots of miles on shoes…A local fisherman tried to put me onto these years ago / wish I would’ve listened sooner. Technically, these shoes are NOT slip-resistant, but I have no issues in a tile kitchen… And I am super clumsy. My whole body feels better wearing these." —Eileen Doolan

"The ON brand is the best walking shoe EVER!!! You will want several pairs!! I can COMFORTABLY walk for hours and miles all day long in a city or countryside in these shoes, and at the end of the day, my feet are NOT tired or sore! They are the best!!" —Tonic

Price: $149.99+ (available in sizes 5–14 and in dozens of colors)

3. A pair of quilted sneakers featuring memory foam insoles beneath that stylish exterior, because you deserve to look and feel like a million bucks.

Psst! Some reviewers say these shoes run big, and recommend ordering a size down.

Promising review: "HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I ordered my true size. I tried them for the first time after a long day of walking and shopping. Super light and comfortable!! I would normally want to be out of shoes after spending all day on my feet, but I don't want to take these off. Will definitely be shopping the other colors they have to offer." —Gina P

Price: $37.89+ (available in sizes 6–11, wide sizes, and in 11 colors)

4. Surprisingly cute Skechers sport sandals with contoured footbeds to keep your feet happy even on your longest treks.

Psst: They're machine-washable.

Promising review: "Love, love, love! I have a VERY difficult time finding sandals that fit my narrow foot. These are the most comfortable sandals I've ever owned. I can tighten them to fit my feet and walk for hours. My first pair went to Italy and Greece with me and it's the only shoe I wore the entire three-week trip. I have started to buy in other colors and currently own three pairs." —Robin A. Laehn

Price: $54.99+ (available in sizes 5–12, including wide sizes, and nine styles)

5. A pair of sock shoes for anyone who's, well, quite frankly, over shoes. These are close as you can get to going barefoot while still protecting your feet from rocks, roots, and all the pain that generally comes with walking without footwear.
Person wearing outdoor shoes with textured soles sits on a rocky surface, surrounded by forest scenery

Promising review: "These are just like being barefoot...without the pain. Fit is fabulous and they are very stretchy like a sock so you can fudge the size. Great grip on all kinds of rock surfaces and your foot does not slide around inside the shoe. Allows your feet to spread, stretch, grip, and twist to feel the terrain. You feel everything... it just doesn’t hurt, lol. Did an 8-mile rock hike the first day and am thrilled with them. They are super easy to get on and off, just like socks. Seem to fit true to size." —Meryl

Price: $21.99+ (available in women's sizes 6–14, men's sizes 5–13 and seven styles)

6. A cushy pair of slide-on slippers that, according to reviewers, feel like walking on a big fluffy cloud or a soft, pillowy marshmallow. Either way, we're talking oh-so-dreamy comfort. 😍

Promising reviews: "Love these shoes! I wear these all summer with shorts, dresses, everything!!! They’re super comfortable and durable. I can walk for hours in these. I have them in five different colors." —mimi13

"These slides are — and I mean this in the best way — marshmallows that mold to your individual feet. They are SOOOO comfortable. I’ve been working from home since the start of the pandemic, and I ordered them to wear in my house after I read that walking around barefoot long-term isn’t great for your feet. I wanted something with a little support, but that would be comfortable. The reviews for these looked good so I ordered a pair, and now I never want to take them off. The material in every part is molded and squishy, so there are no unexpected parts that dig into your skin or chafe. But they’re structured enough to provide some support for your arches. 10/10 highly recommend!" —Carrie B

Price: $19.96+ (available in women's sizes 4–16, men's sizes 3–14, and 15 styles).

7. A pair of memory foam-cushioned knit flats that prove you needn't sacrifice fashion and elegance in the name of comfort. Perfect for long days at the office, social outings, summer weddings, and more!

Promising review: "My office location recently changed from Long Island City to Midtown Manhattan, NYC. I was commuting by car back in Long Island City, so I wore black fancy sneakers that didn’t draw much attention (the sneaker part could be hidden by my work pants) and changed into my stilettos for business meetings. When I first realized that my new commute would entail two buses (with one being a busy tuna-can like NYC MTA bus), I realized that I needed a comfortable middle ground, and less bags to carry; shoes that look professional and don’t require my stilettos. I found these and absolutely fell in love with the lace look! I can affirm that they are comfy, practical, are the perfect fit, and the memory foam makes a busy stressful work day so much more relaxing, feeling like you’re walking on air. I chose black, and they are absolutely perfect for the office! I will say that, like any new shoes, these shoes do take about a week to break in, so I suggest making sure you have bandages for blisters; however, once broken in there is not a single bad thing I can say about these shoes. I absolutely love them! Professional without any discomfort, and they eliminate the quick commute and office shoe swap. The fact that they can be machine-washed is another bonus. These are truly a must-have, whether you’re in the office or planning on a nice day out with a lot of walking!" —Amazon Customer

Price: $39.96+ (available in sizes 5–11 and in six colors)

8. A darling floral ballet flat to add some lovely summertime energy to any outfit, even if that's just a plain tee and jeans. After all, is it even summer if florals aren't a part of your outfit in some way, shape, or form?

Promising review: "Super super cute! I love the look and how they feel. They're very comfortable, and they almost mold to my feet. I'm usually between a 10/11, so I ordered size 11, and they fit perfectly. Definitely recommend if you want a cute, unique pair of flats." —Megan Vest

Price: $24.69+ (available in sizes 5–12 and in nine colors)

9. A pair of lightweight pull-on sneakers since it basically feels like wearing a soft, comfy sock — a sock that provides tons of support, that is.

Promising review: "I cannot emphasize how much I love these shoes. Would I wear these shoes to work out? No. But I can walk for miles in these things; it's like walking on air. They are so light and so comfortable, and they look interesting, and people comment on them often. I have worn them very frequently since I got them three months ago, and there is almost no wear to be seen. So, they are pretty hardy for the price they're at. Considering I've owned expensive Nikes, I'd go with these over my previous shoes. They are so similar in make and feel to the Nikes I've owned, but a much better price, and as a minimalist, I enjoy that there is no visible branding!" —Samantha M.

Price: $30.99+ (available in sizes 5–11 and in 11 styles)

Promising review: "Second time buying these sandals in tan. The first time was almost two years ago. They have been my travel shoe, my beach shoe, my festival shoe, and my everyday shoe. Walked all over Italy, Cancun, Mexico City, and they've been so good to me. Match with jeans, a dress, or a skirt. Super comfy because it holds from your ankle. I looked for others after the first ones broke (two years later and many, many adventures later), but couldn't find anything like these for the price. I initially got them for like $15. But the extra bucks are worth it." —Yes

Price: $29.95+ (available in sizes 5–10 and in eight colors/styles)

13. A pair of Cole Haan leather sneakers since they're a sleek, lightweight shoe that can be dressed up or down. Pretty much a necessity in any wardrobe.
Person wearing casual brown sneakers and blue jeans, standing on a wooden floor

Promising review: "After 12+ months of use, I can safely say these Cole Haan Grand Crosscourts are worth the investment. The perforated leather upper provides excellent airflow, which is a lifesaver in the summer. I frequently wear these for 8-10 hours at a time with zero foot fatigue. One thing to keep in mind is that the white EVA soles are quite soft. This makes them very comfortable for walking, but it also means the material 'bites' into dirt and scuffs easily. If you do a lot of walking on city sidewalks, the bottoms will show wear quickly. Despite that, the leather still looks great, and they haven't developed any painful creases. Truly a staple for any casual wardrobe." —Paxton Fellers

Price: $67.42+ (available in men's sizes 7–13, two widths, and in 13 styles)

14. Cushy Clarks flip-flops if you want a pair of easy-on summer sandals that won't break your back. Don't be fooled by their stylish appearance — they're built with a cushiony, supportive orthopedic footbed!

Comfortable women's sandals with cushioned insoles and stylish straps, suitable for casual wear. Perfect for adding style to everyday shopping trips

Promising review: "LOVE THESE FLIP-FLOPS! I have Clarks boots and always thought they were one of the most comfortable pairs of boots I've owned. When I saw they made flip-flops, I used the Prime Try Before You Buy feature and wasted no time buying them. They are soooo comfortable. We have tile and hardwood floors, and if I'm not wearing good shoes, the pads of my feet and ankles hurt by the end of the day. These are like walking on pillows without being bulky (just good soles), and they fit my feet like a glove. Just ordered another pair." —Bonnie Wagaman

Price: $25.10+ (available in sizes 5–12 and in a variety of colors)

15. Or these Vionic orthotic sandals for footwear that's as comfy as it is cute. Beneath those adorable little bows, you'll find three-zone comfort features, including deep heel cups, arch support, and ample cushioning.

Promising review: "Best sandals I've ever purchased. Super comfortable, even when walking in them for many hours. Dressier than most flip-flops. Most shoes that are comfortable are really unattractive, but not these. Expensive, but worth it!" —cjkotro

Price: $69+ (available in sizes 5–14, including wide and narrow sizes, and dozens of styles)

16. A pair of Adidas Cloudform running sneakers because more than two dozen reviewers say they feel like "walking on clouds," which is frankly, all I need to hear to add to cart.
Person wearing black athletic sneakers with white soles on a wooden floor

Promising review: "I walk a lot. I’m on my feet a lot, and I’m in my 60s. It’s really hard to find comfortable walking shoes. Most do not hold up to their claims, in my opinion. I now own two pairs of these. I walk an average of 3–5 miles a day and spend a lot of time working in my flower beds. I wear them for an average of 12 hours a day. These have held up really well to the work I put them through, and they are so comfortable. Highly recommended!" —PN

Price: $41.67+ (available in sizes 5–11 and 18 colors)

Promising review: "Super supportive. Most comfortable sandals I own. I had these in a tan color and loved them so much I bought the black ones. They have nice arch support and are pretty secure for a slide sandal. I walked for hours on a Saturday in these, and my feet felt great. My back also felt good — not like after wearing the regular flat flip-flops. I will probably get another color. They run very true to size. You can tighten or loosen both straps for a more snug or loose fit as needed." —Lisa Lazaro

Promising review: "I did not expect these to be so comfortable and have cushion support. It was like walking on clouds for sure. This is a true-to-size shoe. Ordered these for hike walks and trail biking to see how comfy it was. Little snug on the entry since it doesn't have a tongue-like opening, it is a sock-like entry but good. To start, I have the black ones but will look to order more colors. Name brands should look into this style of comfort. Or maybe link up to expand product lines. GREAT PRODUCT, THANK YOU." —nessynpook

Promising review: "I have three pairs of these now! They feel great. The straps are comfy. When I bought my first pair I worried the straps would make it difficult to get the shoes on and that they might be uncomfortable/cause chafing. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they really are though!!! I alternate the colors and wear them nearly daily now — perfect summer shoes. We went on a beach vacation...we walked for hours at a time and I never once got a blister or felt any discomfort. I didn't have any issues with my feet sliding around uncomfortably when wet — whether from sweat or when it rained. They were great for walking on the beach, too!! These are seriously the best summer shoe!" —Stark

Promising review: "I am in love with these boots! First, they are great-looking. I've worn them 10 times in the past two and a half weeks and received compliments five times. They look amazing with leggings, maxi dresses, and short skirts. The ankle doesn't gap and is adjustable with laces, but they actually open by way of a zipper on the inside ankle. So, once you get them fitted to your arch and ankle, putting them on and taking them off is easy. I know, as I had to remove them for TSA at two airports. I've worn them in rain, slushy snow, sub-freezing temps, and 70-degree weather. So far, with a wipe of a cloth, they still look brand new. No scuffs and no cracks. Yesterday, I took them off after 31 hours of travel, involving a number of airports and lots of walking, and they still felt good." —Alice

Promising review: "OMG, I love these sandals. I have never had a shoe/sandal that has as many straps as this one does fit so well EVERYWHERE. The back strap and ankle-top strap are NOT adjustable. These worried me when I first got them — I am used to buying shoes/sandals that I can adjust more, BUT the straps on this sandal are so soft and comfortable and just stretchy enough that I was able to wear them for hours right out of the box. No toe pain or too-tight feeling! I have to say they are a perfect fit, which I have never experienced. Also, if you are new to Keens, they have superior foot support — I have knee arthritis and need a comfortable and supportive shoe, and I can wear these for HOURS. They put a bounce in my step and a smile on my face! They look nice too! They are rugged, for sure. I wore them on a trip down the Cali coast, through Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and Colorado. They've been in the desert and water, and held up just fine. TRY THEM, you won't be disappointed!" —J&J Montgomery

Person wearing teal athletic shoes with laces and blue leggings on a carpeted floor, showcasing casual footwear for shopping

I've had a pair of these sneakers for a few weeks now, and I'm pretty obsessed. From the first wear, I immediately noticed a difference compared to my other sneakers. These distribute my weight evenly throughout the foot while providing just enough arch support where I need it. They are certainly a more bulky sneaker (kinda remind me of Hokas), but I actually like how they look, especially since they add such a lovely splash of color to my outfit! They're also generously wide in the toe box, with a more natural, barefoot-inspired fit. I have pretty wide feet (and usually have to size up to wide in most sandals, shoes, and boots), but the regular width was more than spacious enough. Basically, if you don't want your feet to hurt after lots of walking, these just might be for you!

Promising review: "Love love love these shoes. I work in healthcare, and these are amazing on my deep high arches. The arch support is absolutely present. They are pretty bulky looking, but if comfort is what you're looking for, this is it. The color is bright, but I love it." —Greg

Price: $61.92+ (available in sizes 5–12, including wide sizes, and in eight colors)
