Música mexicana singer Majo Aguilar has signed an exclusive worldwide publishing agreement with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) Mexico, Billboard can announce exclusively on Thursday (July 9).

“I’m so excited for this new chapter with Universal Music Publishing Group Mexico, one of creativity and companionship, where I’ll continue creating alongside such talented songwriters and a wonderful team,” Aguilar said in a statement. “I can’t wait for all the beautiful things ahead.”

The agreement comes as the 32-year-old continues to cement herself as a leading female artist in música mexicana. Aguilar’s latest album, Mariachi Mío (Deluxe), released in December 2025, showcases her ability to experiment with traditional mariachi music by fusing it with genres such as huapango, flamenco, rap and tumbado.

Aguilar recently became the first woman ambassador of the World Mariachi Congress, performing Mexico’s national anthem at acclaimed events, including boxer Canelo Álvarez’s fight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

“It is an honor to work with Majo and to have earned her trust,” said Catalina Santa Peña, general manager of Universal Music Publishing Group Mexico. “Beyond being a remarkable songwriter and artist who approaches her craft with care and intention, she undeniably carries the legacy of Mexico in her voice and in her blood, something that fills all of us with pride.”

Since late 2024, the member of the Aguilar Dynasty has been on the “Dos Dinastías, Una Tradición” (Two Dynasties, One Tradition) tour alongside Alex Fernández, the son of singer Alejandro Fernández and grandson of the late Vicente Fernández.

On Nov. 13, Aguilar is set to headline the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City, marking one of the biggest milestones of her career to date.
