The crowd chanted Monty's name after the young Hartlepool lad joined CMAT on stage to perform her hit song Euro-Country. The Irish pop powerhouse delivered one of the stand-out shows of the summer on a sensational night at TK Maxx presents Scarborough Open Air Theatre.

The chart-topping singer-songwriter – aka Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson –gave her adoring fans two hours of hits from her debut album If My Wife New I’d Be Dead, follow up Crazymad, For Me and massively successful Ivor Novello–winning EURO-COUNTRY.

She welcomed young fan Monty, from Hartlepool, to join her on stage to play Euro-Country after she spotted him holding up a sign during the gig. After thanking him for his performance, CMAT said: "Everybody give a huge round of applause for Monty. Thank you so much Monty.

"That takes f***ing crazy courage, that's insane. That's so brave, I love Monty." The crowd then started chanting the young fan's name before CMAT dubbed him an "absolute legend".

Opening the show with Jamie Oliver Petrol Station, CMAT declared: “Scarbados, I said Scarbados! My name is CMAT, this is the very sexy CMAT band and we have a great show for you tonight.”

The Irish star, and self-proclaimed Dunboyne Diana in celebration of her hometown, then wasted no time performing fan favourites When A Good Man Cries, Running/Planning, Have Fun! before the Yorkshire coast venue united as one for viral hit Take A Sexy Picture Of Me.

Ending the night with I Wanna Be A Cowboy, Baby and Stay For Something, where the star jumped into the crowd to create a Scarborough catwalk for a brilliant finale. Singer songwriter Katy J Pearson opened the night with another superb set.
