Step inside Room 102 at Knightsbridge Hotel...

We are delighted to share the newly refurbished Room 102 at Knightsbridge Hotel. With its generous proportions, high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling sash windows overlooking the beautiful tree-lined Beaufort Gardens, the room feels wonderfully light and airy. Sunlight pours in throughout the day, enhancing the rich colours and layered textures that define the scheme.

The focal point is one of our Flora headboards, upholstered in Hazelton House’s beautifully hand block printed Abbotsford fabric. Created using 14 separate colour blocks, the design is a remarkable example of traditional craftsmanship. The intricate printing process creates layers of depth and movement, bringing the fabric beautifully to life within the room. As its name suggests, Abbotsford captures the romance and charm of a Great British country house, with a wonderfully rich and decorative character.

The colour palette has been carefully drawn from the headboard fabric and repeated throughout the room in the upholstery, curtains, decorative accessories and wall coverings. To strengthen this sense of harmony, we have also dressed the mannequin at the opposite end of the room in the same floral fabric, creating a playful feature that draws the eye across the space.

Whenever we use a large scale floral, we like to balance it with a geometric design. Our Busy Lizzie fabric, designed for Christopher Farr, introduces structure and rhythm to the scheme. We have upholstered the two Min’s Tub Chairs and the sofa in this fabric, allowing the bold floral to take centre stage while giving the room a strong visual foundation.

The walls are wrapped in a soft sky blue fabric, creating a calm and welcoming atmosphere that perfectly complements the garden views beyond the windows. The curtains are made using Hearty from our Harvest Moon collection with Andrew Martin. Its gentle linear pattern echoes the colours found within the headboard, introducing a quieter layer of pattern that complements rather than competes with the bold floral design.

Above the fireplace, a gilded antique mirror reflects the natural light back into the room, adding another layer of elegance while enhancing the generous proportions of the space.

The finished room feels joyful, layered and inviting. It is a space where traditional craftsmanship, colour and pattern come together to create a characterful and timeless retreat.
