Members of the Students Federation of India (SFI) on Friday (July 24) gathered at the Government Arts College at Kumarasamipatti and raised slogans against the Union government and NEET, in support of the students protesting in New Delhi.

Police personnel deployed in the locality asked the students to protest on the college premises, leading to a verbal duel between the students and police. The students later dispersed.

The same evening, SFI and DYFI activists began a sit-in at Dadagapatti in Salem Corporation against NEET and in support of students protesting in New Delhi. Over 30 members participated in the protest.
