The blocks-long homeless encampment that has marred Manhattan’s West Side for weeks is still there, even after Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s seven-day deadline for tearing it down — drawing cheers from vagrants.

One of the sidewalk-squatting hobos thanked the lefty mayor Monday.

“[Mamdani] has more of the human aspect,” said Liam, 40, a homeless man from Washington state. “He’s taking into the account people, not just clumping everyone together.

“I feel like he’s saying, ‘Would I be happy with this if it’s me on the street?’ ”

Officials at City Hall had no comment Monday.

The Post on Monday found that much of the shoddy shantytown, which runs from 34th Street up to at least 49th Street along the West Side, was still intact.

Only a handful of its illegal structures — including one across the street from the family-tourist-magnate Intrepid Museum — had been dismantled.

Sanitation workers and cops have been spotted cleaning up a few areas along the makeshift skid row — but at a snail’s pace.

The effort falls far short of Mamdani’s own policy of giving homeless services and outreach workers a week to get the occupants of such sidewalk encampments off the streets before the NYPD is allowed to move in.

The deadline came and went Monday with only the sporadic enforcement occurring.

City sanitation workers were spotted Monday throwing at least clothes and mattresses into a garbage truck, while cops stood by.

Some encampment vagrants said their possessions had been cleared out.

But many tents and makeshift shelters were still up, including at 44th, 47th, and 49th streets near 11th and 12th avenues, with about a half-dozen homeless folks milling about some of the sites.

The Post first blew the whistle on the modern-day skid row earlier this month, with drugs and sex being peddled in at least one encampment area and vagrants stockpiling stolen merchandise in others.

Locals have complained that the garbage-strewn camps were causing headaches for them and tourists — while the NYPD was barred from intervening at the time because of Mamdani’s hands-off response to the homeless crisis.

Last week, Mamdani finally said he would deal with the encampments — but couldn’t say when.
