Due to some improper multiple import back months ago I happen to have a catalog with a lots of duplicates, that I discovered with Excire first, and the new LR duplicate finder now. What I need to achieve is to gather the many different keywords set to the duplicates and add them back to the original in the duplicate stack. Doing this manually for thousands of duplicates is out of the question, I tried with @johnbeardy Syncomatic plugin but it doesn't seem to be working on the duplicates stacks (using Stack Member -> Top of the stack direction and ADD) because the images aren't in the same folder probably. I also tried some Keyboard Maestro magic but my lazily programmed macro is too slow, in its current iteration.
Does anyone have an idea to manage this operation in LR, without resorting to open the catalog with a sqlite editor? John, if you are listening, could you try considering including duplicates in your plugin context, if possible? Thanks

I'm listening. Are you able to put the non-duplicates in one collection, and the duplicates in another? You can then use Syncomatic using the file type option, and it will ask you which collection is which.

You are right that Syncomatic's stacks option can use stacking in folders. Sadly, Lightroom doesn't let plugins access the stacking in folders.

Doing this kind of process, I'd really recommend backing up the catalogue before and after (as plenty of times in between).
