Hard to believe that NFL training camps are already underway. It still feels like summer but of course football starting usually signals that it's almost time for fall. The Cardinals and Panthers opened camps on Wednesday, the Patriots and Seahawks report on Friday, and soon each NFL team will be prepping for preseason, too.

For fantasy football, we're going to get an influx of news that will dictate how we approach drafts and ADP in August. Throughout training camp and preseason, we'll be rounding up all the most important headlines you need to know for fantasy.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters on Friday that Mahomes will be a full participant at practice to being training camp. Kansas City opens came on July 29. Mahomes is recovering from a torn ACL and LCL sustained late last season. He appears in a good spot as he aims to be ready for Week 1. The healthier Mahomes looks at camp, the more his ADP is going to go up.

The Nabers injury saga has been the top news story of the offseason, being monitored by fantasy managers closely. The latest as Giants training camp gets underway is Nabers not headed for the PUP list initially, per ESPN.

This is a great first step in his quest to be ready for Week 1. Things can change and the Giants could opt to place Nabers on the list at a later date in camp, depending on how he looks. It also doesn't mean Nabers will be back at practice immediately. New York opens camp next week on July 28 in West Virginia.

We'll of course be keeping an eye on Nabers' return to practice and his progress throughout camp. Expect his ADP to fluctuate as we head into draft season. Right now, Nabers sits as the WR13 on Yahoo early ADP due to the concern he won't be ready for the start of the season.

As if the Tuten hype train didn't already have enough steam … get ready to hear his name plenty as we head into draft season. The Jaguars lost Travis Etienne Jr. to the Saints in free agency, opening the door for Tuten to slide in and be the RB1. Jacksonville also brought in Chris Rodriguez Jr., and LeQuint Allen Jr. is expected to play a role.

But head coach Liam Coen is already telling reporters that Tuten had a "really good spring" and the back "does a great job of finding the end zone". Both those sentiments bode well for Tuten flying up draft boards so long as he keeps it up at camp and into preseason. Yahoo analyst Justin Boone goes over the Jags' backfield battle a bit more here.

The Seahawks officially placed the running back on the PUP list to begin 2026, meaning Charb will miss a minimum of four games to start the year. This was an expected move and we anticipate Charbonnet returning at some point in the middle of the campaign. Seattle head coach Mike Macdonald told reporters last month that Charbonnet is "doing a great job" in his recovery.

For now, we'll be monitoring the Seahawks' RB battle between rookie Jadarian Price and journeymen Emanuel Wilson and George Holani. More from Boone on that situation here.

Brissett is seeking a new contract but reported to camp on Wednesday and won't be holding out, it seems. Arizona also signed rookie QB Carson Beck to his contract this week. Brissett should be the starting QB for the Cards in Week 1 but there will be some competition between him, Beck and veteran Gardner Minshew. The two sides did have "productive" talks, per new head coach Mike LaFleur.

This is still a situation to monitor. There's a scenario where Beck (or even Minshew) outplays Brissett and Arizona decides not to pay the latter. It's unlikely, but plausible. In any case, Brissett has some built-in chemistry with TE Trey McBride and WR Michael Wilson from last season. But everyone is learning a new offense under LaFleur.

If Tuten is going to be the most talked about RB throughout camp for fantasy, Brooks may come in as a close second. A second-rounder in 2024, Brooks has suffered multiple torn ACLs starting in his last season of college and he missed all of last season with another one. He appears to be healthy and is already being hyped up by head coach Dave Canales. Here's a clip from Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network talking a bit about Brooks and WR Tetairoa McMillan:

Brooks should get plenty of reps along with RB Chuba Hubbard, who should start the season as the lead back. But if Brooks can stay healthy, he has a shot at supplanting Hubbard as the No. 1 option. Remember, Hubbard lost the starting role to Rico Dowdle last season due to injuries. This situation is another RB battle to closely monitor, something (you guessed it) Boone also covers here.

That comes straight from the wide receiver's mouth, a player who dislocated his knee and tore multiple ligaments in Week 4 of last season. Hill didn't mention any timeline but is convinced he'll be back playing football at some point. Doctors had originally told him he may not walk again. So while talk of a return is encouraging, it still feels like a long-shot we see Hill on a football field this season. He remains a free agent and we'll have to see if that changes during the season, otherwise he shouldn't have much of a fantasy impact in 2026.
