The Auburn Tigers got their home schedule started off on the right foot on Saturday night, avoiding any sort of letdown following their huge week one win on the road at Baylor.

Instead of coming out sluggish against an inferior opponent after a huge win, Auburn instead was able to grab a 42-3 win, and quarterback Jackson Arnold picked up right where he left off in getting the offense back into the end zone.

The second drive of the game was not a long one for the Tigers, but it was an effective one as Jeremiah Cobb found his way into the end zone from 46 yards out to put his team on the board first in the middle of the first quarter:

Later in the quarter, Arnold threw his first touchdown pass since arriving to Auburn when he found fellow transfer Eric Singleton Jr. wide open for a 30-yard score which was also good for the first time Singleton scored as a Tiger.

Singleton was not the only new face to score for the first time, as later in the first half Arnold found Horatio Fields for another touchdown and to put Auburn up 21-0 at the half.

The fourth touchdown came from another long Cobb run, who finished the night with 121 yards and two scores:

Singleton found the end zone once again later in the second half on a screen pass from Arnold before the final score of the night from sophomore Durrell Robinson.

Arnold finished his night completing 24 of his 28 passing attempts for over 250 yards and three scores with no interceptions once again. Cam Coleman had seven catches for 77 yards while Singleton finished with four catches for 64 yards and the two scores.

On defense, both Xavier Atkins and Keyron Crawford would have two sacks each as Auburn held Ball State to just a field goal.

With South Alabama on the docket next, it’s a chance for the Tigers to continue improving before the schedule gets very very real with road games against Oklahoma and Texas A&M before facing Georgia.
