The Alabama Crimson Tide has to pick itself back up after the second loss of the season, falling at home for the first time of the Kalen DeBoer era in a frustrating loss to the Oklahoma Sooners this past weekend.

Despite the defeat — which was the second straight at the hands of Oklahoma — everything is still in front of Alabama and starts this week with a game against Eastern Illinois in what should be a tune up before the Iron Bowl. With a game at Jordan-Hare Stadium that has now become must-win in order to make the College Football Playoff, DeBoer is not letting his team dwell on their failures and is trying to turn the page quickly.

During his Monday press conference recapping the previous game and previewing the next one, DeBoer spoke about his mindset and what he’s trying to instill into his team.

“I’m disappointed in the outcome just from the game, and I guess the approach I can already see is dialed in just from the character of this football team,” DeBoer said when asked about how his team has reacted to the loss.

“This is not a time to sit still. This is a time to keep moving forward. We see areas that we can continue to improve on but that’s what we have done all season long. We continue to push and go back to work.”

For as disappointing as the result was to fans, there’s no question it was even more disappointing in the locker room.

Now, it’s up to DeBoer and his staff to get the team back up and ready to go for another challenge.
