Former Auburn and LSU quarterback TJ Finley has committed to what will be his seventh school in seven years.

On3 reported the journeyman now veteran signal caller has committed to Incarnate Word — former home of No. 1 overall NFL draft selection Cam Ward — of the Southland Conference and will play another season of college football for the Cardinals.

After LSU and Auburn, Finley has made stops at Texas State, Tulane, Western Kentucky and Georgia State. An arrest prior to the season led to his dismissal from Tulane and he wound up at Georgia State this past season.

While playing for the Panthers, he appeared in just seven games and ended up getting benched for poor play.

All totaled, he threw 1,244 yards, six touchdowns and seven interceptions, and the team had a 1-6 record in games which Finley played. The year prior, he played in just three games for Western Kentucky after suffering a season-ending injury.

The best season of his career was by far 2023 with the Texas State Bobcats, where he threw for 3,439 yards with 24 touchdowns, even leading them to a bowl victory.

Instead of staying, Finley chose to enter the portal again and has been bouncing around ever since.

Over the past several years, he has become a poster child for the flaws in college football, leveraging NIL opportunities while approaching a decade in the sport.

Regardless of whether fans like it or not, they will certainly be paying attention to Finley’s numbers this year in what will mercifully be his final year of eligibility.
