The MIDI Association have revealed that the registration deadline for this year’s MIDI Innovation Awards has now been extended to 1 September 2026. Now in their sixth year, the awards are a joint venture between The MIDI Association, NAMM and Music Hackspace, and serve to shine some light on both commercial and non-commercial products that use MIDI in interesting ways. 

Entries can be submitted under the following categories:

• Commercial Hardware Products
• Commercial Software Products
• Prototypes & Non-Commercial Hardware
• Prototypes & Non-Commercial Software
• Artistic / Visual Projects & Installations
• New: Best MIDI 2.0 Product (across all categories)

Products or prototypes that were created (or had a major upgrade) after 15 July 2025 are eligible for entry. A full set of terms and conditions can be found here.

• 1 September 2026: Registration closes.
• 8 September 2026: Public voting opens.
• 22 September 2026: Public voting closes, finalists ranked by judges.
• TBD: Winners revealed!
