Musik Hack’s latest offering takes a step away from plug-ins, and introduces a new pay-as-you-go an online mastering platform that draws on the expertise they’ve honed whilst developing their innovative processors.
Musik Hack’s line-up has been influenced heavily by founder Stan Greene’s work as a mixing engineer, and their Master Plan plug-in offers a neat all-in-one solution for those creating their own masters. Their latest offering takes a step away from plug-ins, and introduces a new pay-as-you-go an online mastering platform that draws on the expertise they’ve honed whilst developing their innovative processors.
Following a VIP soft launch, HyFi is now officially up and running, and is now available for the public to access. As you might expect, it’s powered by the same DSP that’s behind Musik Hack’s plug-ins, and the company say it can be thought of as a ‘Master Plan on the go’. The platform works seamlessly across mobile phones, tablets and desktop machines, and promises to deliver clear, loud, and tastefully saturated masters directly through its web browser-based interface.
No subscription is required, and the plug-in operates on a credit system that makes it possible to master material for as little as $0.99 per track. Once a file has been uploaded, users can choose between a selection of loudness and character presets, wait for the processing to be applied and then take a listen to the results — a built-in A/B comparison tool makes quick work of checking the results against the original file or a reference track, and helpfully, there’s a gain-matching function onboard that prevents users’ being ‘tricked’ into simply preferring the louder version.
Key FeaturesMusik Hack say that HyFi is just the first tool to be released on the new platform, and that more are already in development — keep an eye on SOS News to see what appears next!
Pricing & AvailabilityHyFi is available now, and Musik Hack are offering users their first 10 credits for free.
