Ms. Blackburn,
I have some clarifying questions about your recent campaign advertisement in which you discuss Communists and Chinese influence in Tennessee while crushing a bowl of fortune cookies.

First, how ubiquitous is this Communist takeover of Tennessee? Would you be able to provide some data? I have to admit I was blindsided by your ad and shocked to hear that our state has been infiltrated by China to such an extent that our state government would need to intervene.

Second, has apprehension about China been consistently raised by your constituents? Ideally, you could schedule a town hall so we (and you) could hear the voices of concerned Tennesseans.

I wasn’t aware of the local Red Scare, and I’m certain my neighbors aren’t. We need to know what evidence was used to determine this priority.

Finally, if elected governor, what funding do you plan to use to “crack down on China” and “hunt down every Communist?” Will you reallocate funds from education? Social services? Healthcare? Or will you raise our taxes to “fight to protect Tennessee land” from China? These are important questions that need to be addressed as part of your platform.
