Producer Hit-Boy celebrated his newfound professional freedom this weekend with a ‘Hit Free’ party in Los Angeles. Highlighting his impressive and extensive career, the gathering found the beatsmith showing gratitude for escaping an 18-year publishing deal with Universal Music Group, largely thanks to Roc Nation’s Shawn “JAY-Z” Carter and Desiree Perez.

“What’s the deal with hitboy? 18 years in the making…Hit-Boy is creatively free, finally,” read a large sign that decorated the party, with many others reading, “What’s the deal with Hit-Boy?”

Guests for the day-long affair included DJ Hed — who spun for the event — Mario, James Fauntleroy, Dave East, Dom Kennedy, BabyTron, and more, with many of them seen shooting a music video with Hit-Boy during the get-together.
