 The quiet power of these stoic creatures is beautifully evoked in Federico Veronesi's astounding collection of photographs. From the full herd (pictured here), to the playful mother and child - Elephants are captured in every stage of life. 

Veronesi's hope for the book was to capture elephants as the 'last witnesses of a world before humans took over the earth.' He does this magnificently. Their ancient souls shine through the pages and cement them as immovable forces within their environment. 

This is a book to bask in and fully appreciate the ways in which Veronesi's photographs evoke the presence of one of the planets most ancient animals.
