Little League® mourns the passing of Shane Melton, a longtime volunteer and former North Carolina District 5 Administrator. 

Known for his dedication to the Little League program, Melton’s passion and efforts have made a lasting impact on both volunteers across the Southeast Region and members of his community. His infectious smile, care for the leagues and players around the district, and the tremendous energy he brought day in and day out will be missed.

Melton is survived by his children, Brittany and Garrett Melton, his mother and father, Teresa and Gary Melton, his brother and sister, Dustin and Megan, his step siblings, Chris, James, Galen, and Nikki; and his nieces and nephews, Hataya, Kemper, Rilee, Macie, Kynndle, Larkyn, Cole, and Natalie.

Melton will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family, community, and Little League. His legacy and service to his community will be lived out by all who knew him.
