The German Research Foundation will fund the international Research Training Group “Multidimensional Biomaterials [MB]²” at the University of Bayreuth for an initial period of five years starting in early 2027. In an interdisciplinary approach, researchers from Bayreuth will collaborate with partners from three universities Australia to develop new and more broadly applicable biomaterials. At the same time, early‑career researchers will receive comprehensive training in biomaterials science during their doctoral studies. The number of doctoral candidates funded by the DFG will be matched by the Australian universities, creating an internationally networked cohort of early‑career researchers.
