This guide will go over how romance works in Moonlight Peaks, including which characters you can potentially date and how to take things further with them.
Romance BasicsYou can start trying to woo romanceable characters right from the start in Moonlight Peaks. In the relationships menu, you can use the heart icons on each character to determine whether they can be dated. Character with only four heart icons max out as friends, while ones that have the stacked set of three hearts with "..." on them can be dated.
There are 23 characters that can be dated, some available from the start while others are unlocked as you progress through story quests. If you're okay with it you can date multiple characters, so if you meet someone you like later while already in a relationship you can always date them too.

Befriending and romancing a character in Moonlight Peaks comes down primarily to persistence. By default, you can talk to each character and give them a gift for a relationship point boost each day. Gifts that they like or love will grant extra points — likes are marked with a star in the previously gifted list, and loved items are marked with a heart.
The first four pink hearts are for regular friendship, while the red ones become available after dating.
Once you reach two hearts with a character, you can then give them a hug. This counts towards the daily affection tracker on their character page, which is shared with kissing once you get access to that while dating.
At four hearts, you'll have the option to ask a character out, which they should accept without any issue. From here, you can now kiss them each day instead of just hugging them. They'll also have some different lines of dialogue if you give gifts they like.
If you talk to a character you're in a relationship with, you can ask them on a date. This will take place at the start of the next in-game day, involving you doing one of the various side activities like creating flower bouquets or pottery. It's also possible for characters you take you out on a date even if you don't initiate it first.
At eight hearts (four pink and four red), the next time you finish a date you have the option to propose to that character. From there, you'll be tasked with setting a date for your wedding. While there doesn't seem to be a limit to how late you can set it, it must take place at least a minimum of two days after you propose.
Setting a date for the wedding unlocks new attire in Third Eye Threads, Moonlight Peaks's clothing store. You can change into your new clothing straight away, but you also have a chance to do so on the day of the wedding.
It's not possible to miss the wedding, as you'll be reminded by your cat on the day as they tell you to change your clothes (they'll do this regardless of what you're currently wearing.) After the wedding concludes, you'll now have a spouse!
This doesn't change too much in the grand scheme of things. You get an achievement, some extra lines of dialogue when speaking to them, and your spouse will also sometimes be in your house at the start of a night.
Breaking Up and Divorce
Not a fan of who you're dating, or took things all the way and regret it? This is where Llemi comes in. Usually found outside their house in the top right of the map (swimming is required to reach it, unlocked during the main story,) Llemi can cancel both relationships and marriages freely.
Since this is treated as a magical process rather than something more mundane, there's no real social penalty for doing so. However, the character you break up with will be in the "Hurt" status, meaning they wont talk to you for a few days. They'll also reset to four hearts after this point, as if you'd never dated beforehand.
And that's everything for romancing and dating characters in Moonlight Peaks! If you're trying to track down some collectables, make sure to check out our interactive maps.
