Square Enix shared new Final Fantasy XIV screenshots going over things we can expect in the 7.55 update via the special site for the next FFXIV Trail to the Heavens patch series. It covers additions like the The Occult Crescent: North Horn Field Operation, the Phantom Weapons and Armor quests, and the new Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures quests. This comes ahead of everything appearing in-game on July 28, 2026.

In each case, we’re presented with a few details about what to expect from the different situations and between two and eight screenshots highlighting the additions in FFXIV patch 7.55. For example, the Phantom Weapons upgrade section involves the smallest update. That will involve visiting the blacksmith Gerolt yet again to improve our equipment. Since its introduction in 7.2, we’ve seen it come up in 7.3 and 7.4 too. 

Here are those two images. They actually show Gerolt and the way the upgraded Phantom Weapons will look.

The Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures questline in FFXIV 7.55 continues a story that started in 7.2. Hildibrand is still caught up in Detective Hardiboiled’s case involving Carnelian, with Nashu Mhakaracca also carrying out her own research.

Most of the screenshots deal with The Occult Crescent: North Horn, however. We get to see more of  Shades’ Triangle and go through the Field Operation and the upcoming The Forked Tower: Magic Raids. The eight images offer looks at locations and possible fights.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and patch 7.55 arrives in FFXIV on July 28, 2026. The Switch 2 version will appear in August 2026.
