Joe McSpadden has been named Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA), District 32 Captain.

A Rhea County native, Capt. McSpadden has over 16 years of law enforcement experience with TWRA and holds a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Management from Tennessee Tech University. He started with TWRA and was assigned to Perry County in 2010. He transferred to Hamilton County in July of 2011 and was promoted to Sergeant in 2022.

In addition to game warden duties, he has served with the Commercial Fishing Task Force and TWRA Honor Guard. He has instructed Defensive Tactics, Firearms, Patrol Stops, External Response to an Active Shooter, and Field Training. Through these roles, he has trained and mentored countless officers in the field and at the Tennessee Wildlife Officer Training Academy, shaping the next generation of conservation law enforcement.

Capt. McSpadden has received numerous accolades in his career, including the 2015 Region III Officer of the Year, the 2020 TWRA Officer of the Year, and commendation for his response to Hurricane Helene.
