Britney Spears has obviously been the subject of so much rumormongering over the years that, at this point, there's really no limit when it comes to the (quite cruel!) things people have made up about her.

Apparently, one of the most ridiculous things people are currently theorizing on the internet is that, at one point, Britney herself was "cloned" — meaning that the Britney you see on, say, your IG feed is not actually the real Britney. Pretty nutty, right?

Well, Jayden James Federline — one of the two sons that Britney shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline — definitely agrees, because he recently took to IG Live to address all the speculation, as well as the nastiness of the rumor mill in general.

“I hop on TikTok and everyone on TikTok— I see this one video that has 1.2 million likes, and the caption is like, ‘The biggest theory ever: Is Britney Spears still alive?’” he said.

“Like, bro, you can go to her page and see her right now," he added. (It's true — right here is a post that she made just two days ago.)

Jayden went on to address the "fake and exaggerated" nature of baseless conspiracy theories in general.

“People know how gullible people are and they use that to their advantage,” he said. “Anyone that sees it on media, they just see it and if it has a lot of likes, they [believe] it. They don’t even research it, they’re just, ‘Wow, yeah, it’s crazy. I believe it, though.’”

Points are definitely being made! Bottom line, as well as the eternal rule of the internet in general: Don't believe everything (or, anything, really) that you see on social media without doing some basic research first. Especially when it's people saying that, uh, Britney Spears has been cloned.
